Welcome to
Greenland Ropes

What is Allunaariaqattaarneq?

Greenlandic rope gymnastics is a series on maneuvers completed on a set of harpoon lines strung between two posts or trees. Originally developed by qajaq seal hunters in Greenland, these activities were intended to keep hunters strong and to entertained.  As they are now included in the Greenlandic National Championship, a points structure has been developed with each move worth a certain number of points.

Just starting out?

This page lists some starter moves for someone just learning the ropes (pun intended).

As many of you know, sites like this cost money to run. We want to provide everything we can for free, but if you find some value here, please consider tossing a couple of bucks in to help with hosting.
